Hi, I'm Desi (short for Desislava) - but don't worry, Desi works, too. A little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Bulgaria and moved to the U.S. with my family at 11. I've had the chance to experience two different cultures and meet many different people along the way. I speak a few languages, too.

Growing up I always found myself organizing and creating new spaces within my home. Creating this relationship with my environment and enjoying the process of moving, sculpting, fixing and designing new spaces led me to a career in the creative field.

Throughout my design career I've worked in the Interior Design, Architecture and now Tech industry. I find that these disciplines overlap the fundamentals of design, which hold deep roots in the human-centered approach and design. The idea of creating dynamic and beautiful experiences that could make people's lives better excites me as much as seeing how they actually interact with the interface. My passion for translating ideas into visual presentations makes me seek projects that always challenge me and push my creative boundaries.

Oh, and I also opened an olive oil store at 21 (foodie alert)! So I've also dealt with the challenges a business owner can face growing a company and maintaining profit margins.

Design isn't just about pretty colors and layouts; it's about achieving business goals through creativity, intelligence and passion. Design matters when it comes to creating great products.
